The Woods Are Lovely Dark And Deep

Into The Woods

As we gather fir tips during twilight, the frosty air hangs in front of us reflecting the tractor’s headlight beams from behind us. Everything is a little more crisp –  contracting under night’s cover, as if tucking itself in for the evening.  As you can see, snow has fallen repeatedly throughout October and November on our farm.  Gathering fir tips is always fun, and each time of day and set of conditions makes it more beautiful in its own way. After the snow has recently fallen upon the boughs, a clip from our loppers will send a fountain of fine powdery snow cascading into the air as the fir drops to the ground. On a cold night, like this, you can get lost in how lovely the woods are despite the darkeness. And like Frost, we have promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep, and miles to go before we sleep, as we ready your wreaths. We are again so excited to share another wreath season with you.
